Jónsi - 'Go Do' and 'Go' Releases

Jónsi arrives on a lofty cloud of sulphur for a series of dates in Europe and North America.

Just a heads up for the new album and single by Jónsi - better known to a multitude of quiet, contemplative bedsit types and glacier watchers as Jón Thor Birgisson, the lead singer of Sigur Rós.

Jónsi is currently out on a world tour to promote ‘Go’. No simple one-man show with just an acoustic guitar, this will be a bells-and-whistles extravaganza! The shows which started in North America in April will feature a brand new band and a stage set designed by 59 Productions.

The idea of the stage collaboration with 59 Productions is to bring together the worlds of theatre and music in a new and hopefully unique way, in order to create something other than the hoary old clichés that pass for innovation in rock'n'roll.

Jónsi returns to London on May 26th for a show at London’s Forum.

The perky, parping, foot-stamping, helium-filled single, ‘Go Do’ is out now, and clashing with a similarly high-altitude cloud of volcanic ash blowing East from his native Iceland.

Fans can catch him at the Vic Theatre in Chicago on April 27th and 28th and at Terminal 5 in New York on the 8th and 9th of May.

EMI is currently promoting an album preview over at Youtube.
