If you don’t know Moco yet, and you may well
not, the best thing to do is go out and get to know
them. Yourself. No amount of gibbering on our part will
be able to hit the nail on the head. You’ll either love
‘em or hate ‘em, and swear that everything we told you
was irredeemable nonsense. They’re that kind of spluttering
rock ‘n’ roll foursome, splitting opinions, splitting
hairs, spilling pints. Even we’re still not sure whether
they’re geniuses or gobshites. In the most simple terms
they’re a bull in a record shop, full-throttle 60s POP
(important, those capitals) squeezed into an ill-fitting
customised Ramones leather jacket, giggling at the cover
of a Dumb and Dumber DVD and trying to play it
on a turntable. And all the while being as big as the
Rolling Stones in their own heads. They have a tune
magpie of a single in ‘Miss Mantaray’ which is
out now. Check their site WWW.MOCOHQ.COM
for tour dates as those are the occasions where you’ll
make your mind up. A little while back Simon Misra (Moco
beatmeister and John Bonham lookalike) kindly answered
some questions for us….
1. Where are you now and what can you see?
I can see out of the window onto the rolling hills of
Wigan where we reside.
2. What did your last meal comprise of?
A combination of chicken and potato. Egg fried rice
earlier in the day has given me wind, so i had to keep
it simple.
3. What was the last thing you hated really quite
passionately?
Too much egg in my egg fried rice.
4. What was the last magazine you read?
Not read a good magazine recently, FHM is just
for the pictures of ladies and distended gonads. Harry
Potter is the place to be, I keep having nightmares
about it though. Should maybe get back into reading
Razzle.
5. What was the last film you saw?
Monsters Inc at about 5 am, I got scared and
passed out. It had been a long and emotional evening.
6. What did you do last night?
Drinking round Liverpool popped into the Parr St Studio
bar but Phil Collins wasn't in. Lovely place…wouldn't
mind recording a double album in there.
7. What’s the most important thing you’ve ever done?
Discovered that the human body has amazing regenerative
powers which can be abused until such times as medical
attention is necessary and then you move onto the amazing
regenerative power of drugs.
8. If you could see through someone else’s eyes for
a day, whose would they be?
Sir Jimmy of Saville. Then I could fix it for everyone.
9. Do you believe in God and/or another spiritual force?
Yes there is something out there, some deity who is
looking down on us pulling the strings. Puppets that’s
what we are. And it’s a lot more violent than Punch
& Judy out there.
10. What are your plans for tonight?
To go out and have a good time because you can sleep
when you' re dead. Although technically it's not sleeping,
someone just cut your puppet strings.
