Mull Historical Society - Am I Wrong? released June 2nd.

MULL HISTORICAL SOCIETY - AM I WRONG?

He's doing dates with the Polyphonic Spree, REM, the Delgados and Belle & Sebastian for christs' sake. Are there any surprises left for Colin and the band to pull out of the bag? Audio links for delicate new single, 'Am I Wrong?'

22/05/2002

The pop spectacularity that is the Mull Historical Society release 'Am I Wrong' on 2nd June. This is the second single to be taken from the 'Us' album, released earlier this year.

The one-man society that is Colin MacIntyre created one of the most treasured albums of 2001. The fantastic 'Loss' went on to sell over 70,000 copies in the UK and spawned more web searches for Mull than if Playboy were to set up a Scottish Mansion! Returning at the start of this year with the acclaimed second album 'Us' and a bona-fide Top 40 hit, 'Final Arrears' the Mull Historical Society will be one of 2003's shiniest stars.

'Am I Wrong' is a stand-out track on an album of songs that are head and shoulders above the rest. From the intro you swell along with piano and cymbals as they rise and fall throughout. The uplifting lyrics and vocal marry perfectly with this swaying rhythm. You can see clouds lift and dull days brighten as this drifts out of radios across the country.

Also included on the single set are new and exclusive tracks. As well as unreleased songs and a Peel Session version of the Mull title song there is a great great cover version. On first listen I challenge anyone to spot the track that Colin has taken on. With a brassy, swing he adds wonderfully to the R&B sass of Ms Dynamite's 'It Takes More'. With the harpsichord stabs and rumbling bass line I think we have spotted a new Mull ghetto style!

Colin and the full live Mull experience can be seen live in the upcoming months, including support slots with The Polyphonic Spree and REM.
