Confusion surrounded the release of their last single
- originally titled 'Bleed American', a name change
was decided upon following the terrorist attacks on
New York. The newly named 'Salt Sweat Sugar' still managed
to smack a few heads, and Britain started to sit up
and listen to Jimmy Eat World. Their first Dreamworks
album (also originally titled 'Bleed American', but
changed to 'Jimmy Eat World') has also been a roaring
success and is included in 'albums of 2001' lists in
both Q and Kerrang!, while earning reviews ranging from
great to brilliant along the way.
With the release of 'The Middle' in January, Jimmy Eat
World look set to break - big time! All loud guitars
and perfect harmonious choruses, 'The Middle' shows
exactly the alternative the band offer to the current
crop of dumbed-down, undirected anger types that prevailed
through 2001. Link to the video clip (windows and real
