Meanwhile at home in the UK promotional copies of CRYSTAL
are being distributed and label insiders suggest the
single should be available on August 13.

Label insider, William says: "The EP is billed as a
prelude to the 3 16 DVD release here in Japan and makes
no mention of the upcoming album. Even the artwork is
3 16ish. (Like the DVD cover only a white background)"
As for GET READY, the tracks TURN MY WAY and CRYSTAL
are available here to preview at CRUD.
It also seems the band have started to resurrect songs
from their previous JOY DIVISION incarnation for their
live set. New Order have not performed Joy Division
material since the suicide of singer Ian Curtis in 1979.The
band continued as New Order from January 1980. In the live set, New Order now also perform 'Heart
and Soul' as well as Joy Division's signature tune 'Love
Will Tear Us Apart'. The version of 'Atmosphere' on
the 'Crystal' single is a live version performed at
the Reading Festival in 1998. It's the Manchester band's first album since 1993 is titled 'Get Ready'
and will come out next month. Of course guesting on the album is ex-Smashing Pumpkin
head BILLY CORGAN who shares vocals on 'Turn My Way'.
Full-time member GILLIAN GILBERT is taking time off
to look after her 18-month-old daughter (by drummer
STEPHEN MORRIS, also her partner in band THE OTHER TWO),
who is recovering from a serious illness. The link between
Corgan and New Order is that Smashing Pumpkins used
to cover the Joy Division song 'Transmission' in concert
during their ADORE tour. The CHEMICAL BROTHERS are also featured on the track
